Makassar – Three students from the English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar, have been selected for the SDGs Project for Environment Sustainability. The program, organized by the Ministry of Environment Japan in collaboration with World Inc. Japan, aims to enhance students’ understanding of global sustainability issues.

The selected students, Khairun Nisa, Muhammad Ashari, and Zizie Syahira, are currently in their second semester. They will participate in an international outbound program alongside students from various universities, both domestic and international.

“We are very proud and grateful for this achievement. This program is a golden opportunity for us to learn firsthand about environmental issues and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially being able to represent our faculty,” said Zizie and Azhari, the selected students.

The SDGs Project for Environment Sustainability will be held virtually for one semester. Participants will engage in various activities, including lectures and seminars on global environmental issues, discussions and exchanges of ideas with students from different countries, and group projects to develop innovative solutions to environmental problems.

“We hope that through this program, students can develop a better understanding of the importance of environmental conservation and become agents of change in the future,” said Dr. Ummi Khaerati Syam, Head of the English Education Department, FKIP Unismuh Makassar.

The participation of Unismuh Makassar students in this program is expected to strengthen international cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in the field of environmental sustainability.
